Christmas in July event helps 2,500 homeless, at-risk students start school year out right

Olivia McGregor says the Collier County community has helped her 6-year-old son Benjamin in so many ways, and Saturday was another example.

Nine Kiwanis club branches gathered for their third annual Christmas in July event at the Naples Sports Park to support 2,500 homeless and at-risk students in the county school system. Each child received a personalized backpack and enough supplies to last through the upcoming school year.
